Wow, is she gorgeous. Speaking from first hand experience with our "first borns," Ace and Roxie, rescue dogs are THE BEST and they will keep you real and outside and active like nobody's bizness! Nothing like picking up poop first thing in the morning to keep things in perspective. That Lola is one lucky kid. A puppy! Congrats, Mama Kris and Papa Brian! I'm so happy for you. My two boys, Griffin and Murphy are the loves of my life (sorry to my hubby). There is nothing like the companionship of our fur-babies.
I love Cesar Milan. I used to watch his show all the time and I even read his book. It's clear that he deeply loves dogs, but I no longer agree with the techniques he uses. It has become quite controversial. Even Oprah has gone another way- the way of positive reinforcement. For me, the switch was akin to going from SAD eating to the crazy sexy lifestyle. Once you've made the change, you can't imagine going back. Ever heard of clicker training? Check out trainer Jeff Millman's website: http://www.watchandtrain.co... . You can watch some of his training videos online. The clicker thing is so cool and FUN for the pooches. We were lucky enough to work with Jeff when we were in Chicago last summer. He worked miracles with our (sometimes aggressive) Murphy.
Anyhoo- I'm wagging my tail with joy for your new baby!
Much love, Sandra

Re: Welcome Lola...

She is spirited and fierce and won't be stopped... makes me think of you and all the warriors here. I am so glad you let another fur kid into your life. Getting my pooch was one of the most healing things I did for myself, and not just for me being sick - but for my own day to day happiness - there's no way I'm not laughing my ass of at least once a day because of him.

Run, Lola, Run!

Re: Welcome Lola...

OMG shes awesome. People tend to be afraid of him, because he has a bit of the scary pitbull look going on. But he is a total snuggle bug and extremely smart and well-behaved... I'm sure your Lola will turn out to be just as wonderful!

Re: Welcome Lola...

Congratulations on the new arrival. Congrats you two! As a fellow dog owner, of 3 huskies, welcome to dogful bliss! That is so wild what Lola does to Crystal's grave?! Maybe Crystal is givin' messing with her and that is the only way Lola can 'give it back'?! My dog that died last year still seems to have 'dibs' on that corner of the bed he used to sleep on... the other dogs won't lay there?
