Wow, I am sooooo sore today after that amazing yoga class! It was so much fun sharing an afternoon of yoga, fantastic raw food, and Kris Carr fun with the Crazy Sexy Community:) I am so excited already about our next meetup this winter! I certainly could use some meditating magic in my life (although I know its not magic, I just have the sit down on that pillow!). At the same time, there is something magical and inspiration about this movement that has changed my entire lifestyle. As our community grows, the magic does too! Hooray!

And we are holding on for you. Props to you for representing us all and giving us a voice in that tell it like it is gentile style we have come to love. We are all learning to nestle not wrestle in this crazy sexy life. Rock on my sis-tah! Blessed be, Bren

Kris - I walked away yesterday feeling so light, healthy, and positive... my cells were humming, between the stretching, the breathing, the raw food, and all the postive energy. I was in such a great mood that I even had a fabulous time at dinner w/my boyfriends's parents (who normally bring me down w/negativity). I I just killed them with my fun and light! I can't wait for the next one. Thank you sooo much for doing what you're doing. You're a revolutionary!

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing.....totally Amazing! Yesterday was exactly what I needed to get through MY warts and fears about what is happening in my life right now. I slept better than I have in months and woek up feeling revived and fresh. I loved seeing people in "real time" after recognizing faces from the computer and seeing others that I remembered from the May meet-up. These meet-ups are so important, they are what brings the crazy sexy world of cyber-space and real-time hugs and giggles together. My husband Rich joined us and was thrilled to be part of my crazy sexy life.....although he is a huge part of my crazy sexy life :-) He is such a doll and loved being there with us. On the way home he said, "now I know why you are always on that website." I don't think it will be long until he has his OWN profile. Okay, I hate to brag, okay not really....but I get another crazy sexy weekend coming up. Yup, I'm off to Kripalu for boot camp and I CAN'T WAIT! What a blessing it is to be crazy and sexy! Thank you Kris for opening the door for us to be just that!

Thanks to Jivamukti Yoga studio and Shandi for a fabulous yoga experience and thank you to all who provided the yummy food and recipes.

Kris, Teri and others on the team, thank you! I couldn't stay to chat yesterday as I had to get back to Connecticut, but I WILL see you this weekend at boot camp. I have lots to say, share, overcome, laugh and love with you about. xoxo

Oooh, ooh, next meet-up in December for meditation.....sign-me up! Fabulous idea.

Tonight begins Rosh Hashana, the Jewish new year. I have my table set for 15 adults and 4 at the kids table. Included in that number are 6 teen-age boys....a lot of food is needed to feed this crowd. Well, if you don't know about a traditional Jewish holiday meal I can tell you it is NOT on the crazy sexy food plan.... a year ago I would have mouth watered for this meal and today it is grossing me out. One of my best friends, Jill, who is joining me in my crazy sexy life is coming and we will stick together and eat on out plan. My husband doesn't even want the brisket, which by the way I can make a mean brisket. (Those celebrating tonight will know what I am talking about.) For me, in some ways, this is a new year. Resolutions get made tonight as we wish for a sweet new year......for complete craziness and sexiness!

Big loud applause to you for sharing those warts with us! We need to know we are not alone in being imperfect (though you have certainly never put forth any holier than thou-ness...EVER). I HATE that I had to go to a wedding in Michigan over the weekend and miss out on the jivamukti fun. I thought of you guys as I sat in the Detroit airport. I've been in travel mode and haven't juiced for a week and I am feeling the difference. I'm sleepy and sluggish and weepy and cranky. Tomorrow I will get the greens flowing and reenergize. LOVE to all!

Kris, you are always so centered and on point during your interviews. I'd love to hear if you have some kind of meditation/ritual/practice you do or prayer you pray just before that red light goes on. You are definitely tapped in. Care to share? I also think it's time for another post on supplements! I'm still using Women's One Daily by Daily Foods because you said long ago that it's the one you take. I almost bought the Women Over 40 one yesterday but I couldn't bring myself to do it! Still adjusting...xoxo.

Sunday was AMAZING. Talk about starting off the week right! I was so excited to meet you and Terri and the rest of the amazing women and men there. I loved chatting with Laura B and Rick, as well as Lauren and Julie.

There is a Deepak Chopra center near me that offers FREE group meditation at noon every day. Why do I not show up? Why do I tell myself that I am mindful of my own spiritual life when in reality it always seems to barely make the list. I would LOVE a meetup centered around this.

Sandhi is amazing and she just so happens to also teach at my gym. I will also be making more trips down to Jivamukti.

Bless you, your amazing week and all the amazing days yet to come! Muchos besos:)

Hi Kris - I just wanted to thank you and your team for putting the day together. I went with my good friend Laura and we both left on such a raw high! Everything was fabulous from the yoga, to the salad, and mostly to you. You are such an inspiration...you must get sick of hearing that all the time but you really are. Thanks for creating this amazing space...

Hi Kris, I just started reading your blog and found it to be very inspirational. Thanks for everything. Now I have heard somewhere that you are releasing a new book, Crazy Sexy Detox/Diet....
Is that true or just a rumour?
    Love to you

    Hi Kris,

I'm really bummed out. I was at Kripalu last night to hear a speaker and found out that you'll be there this weekend. I live real close by and said sign me up! Then they said you have a waiting list of 20. Good for you bad for me!

I'll have to keep an eye out for your next visit because I have to meet you. In many ways I feel like your cosmic twin, ... except older, short male, white bearded etc. But I can also relate with just about every experience you've been through and share your spirit.

On 2/22/07, I also heard the 5 dreaded words "you have inoperable, incurable cancer". This must be a joke or mistake ... they were only checking for gall stones. Where did a rare Stage IV canSer come from? Why didn't I have other symptoms? Plus, I never even heard of this type of canSer. OK, tell me what I have to do and I'll do it. The local docs talked about 3-6 months, based on statistics. So my wife and I headed down the Pike to Dana-Farber. We've had the most incredible experiences there. I love everyone I've come in contact with, but mostly my doc who gave me the most powerful medicine - Hope. He talked about living with cancer, targeted therapies, anti-angiogenesis and ignoring statistics. My mind set has always been "why not me". Somebody has to be in the small number that make it 5 years or more, so why can't it be me.

Still no cure for my canSer, and the treatment has been pretty rough at times, but I'm still here 18 months later, doing my best to live with it ,until there is a cure. Got to see my first grandchild born in March, walked my second daughter down the isle in July and I've raised a lot of money for the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber. My life now revolves around helping others through their journey, educating them about their options and trying to be a calming / positive role model. It's so much more rewarding than when I worked for one of the biggest corps in the world. I can't go to sleep at night unless I feel that I helped someone that day.

I hope to meet you one day. Your program sounds fantastic.

    Peace and Pumpkins

    Shaun,
I'm part of this CSL community, and I just read your story, and wanted to tell you that I am a stage IV survivor going on 6 years. (My initial diagnosis was stage III, and that was 8 years ago.) I just wanted to tell you that because stage IV people get such scary statistics, but I'm here to tell you that taking care of yourself through programs like Kris's DOES PAY OFF. I still have disease and I still have to live on chemo. But I have an amazingly full life despite that, and no symptoms of my disease. I am totally passionate about this idea of Health Maintenance. and my life also revolves around helping others navigate their cancer journey. You are right, it is very rewarding. This journey has showed me the universality of suffering and that compassion is blessed work. May you be blessed and enjoy a long life!

Kris, you are so right on when you say that Health Maintenance should be our national priority. The latest fright over one's 401K value is nothing compared to the loss of one's health, yet most people don't think about that most important investment. We can't rely on our government to show us how. It will have to be a citizen effort involving education, support for small farmers and sustainable farming, protecting ourselves from environmental assaults like GMO farming, to assuring that our states have adequate water to produce crops.
My local cancer center is bringing a nationally known dietician and cancer survivor to speak next month about her change to a plant-based diet and her cancer recovery. I am hoping to help with a follow-up support group to help patients transition to that kind of diet. I believe that these kind of grass roots efforts are what is needed. Give people the tools. Perhaps your next role will be a leader in creating a model for people to duplicate and bring to their communities.

I would love to fly out there for a cool meet up this fall. I saw some fo your pictures on Penni Shelton's blog from the Raw Spirit Festival. Lokks like it was a great time. She's fellow Tulsan and Raw foodie. I'm moving back there in January ans was delighted to find that she has started and active community of health loving life lights!!!

Anywho, how to join the New York Posse? Didn't see a link? Maybe I'm missing something?

Hey Kris, I just finished an amazing week-long meditation course that you may be interrested in. It is the 'Art of Living' course offered all over the world and it has fabulous health benefits. They teach breathing techniques that are meant to detox your body and boost your immune system. Thought you might be interrested incase you have not tried it... :)

Hi Kris- I'm newly diagnosed (March 2008) with Uterine LEIOMYOSARCOMA, STAGE FOUR - a rare and incurable cancer, and was wondering if YOU have this same cancer. It's a bummer in so many ways - totally surprising, unexpected and now life-changing in all that this means. Hope you will answer my question - and let me know if this group is for me. I'm under the care of an oncologist at Memorial SLoan Kettering in NYC - who is somewhat sceptical about alternative healing energies (I do quigong energy healing with Master Wu in NYC on a regular basis, and just returned from the JOHN OF GOD spiritual experience at Omega Institute in RHinebeck, NY). I'm hoping you get back to me! Thanks - Kathy

Kris! How funny that I find you here. I saw you on Oprah (I'm from Australia so feel a very long way away!), nevertheless you were such an inspiration I did a google and it turns out you have a blog too! Very cool. Since reading about you, I've taken a huge interest in raw foods and alkaline foods and am even considering reading The China Study! I take a huge interest in my health so this is something I've been wanting to do for a long time...so just wanted to let you know that you have already greatly impacted the life, health and spirit of someone on the other side of the world.
    much love xxx

Please email me and let me know if you're interested!
