Kris Carr's Crazy Sexy Blog: Edward

I love our elliptical. I inherited it from my dad (who passed away from pancreatic cancer). Use it all the time. You'll love it! Congratulations to you and Edward. I know you'll be very happy together.

Kris, My trainer says what you think is what happens.
I thought (before he said that) that I could not last 5 minutes on the elliptical. I changed my thinking. I got on it and at 15 minutes I said, yeah this is making my legs tired, but I don't have to get off. And so I didn't. I consistently could do 30 minutes from the beginning and now I do 35 with varied resistance.

I listen to audiobooks on my ipod. Better for me than music since my pace is not influenced by faster or slower beats. My heart rate influences my workout. I have to work harder now to get it up there!! Yeeha!

I am HOT!! and I am a short little fat lady.

I joined the gym in december because I'm finally out of pain!! No more main meds or sleping meds...thanks to accupunture!!! So, I'm to chubby to jump into weights, which I LOVE.My trainer simply said..CARDIO.Noooooooo!!!!! I hates it I said. Then I climbed on the elyptical.I frickin love it! No less than 30 minutes since day one.Yesterday..45 minutes in aerobics mode.Yup I thought I was the shit when I climbed off.I miss it when I'm not on it everyday.I work out of town,so no can do.But,it's ok.I'm seeing the difference.I can't believe it.This chemo weight has ben so stubborn.Put me into many a funk. But I got this.If I can kick cancers ass..surely I whip my ass into some kind of shape other than a bus.
My slogan is...2009 AND I"M GOING TO LOOK FINE.I'm all over it.
    Happy trails on your ride.
    Muahhhh!
P.S. Put your spiritual crap on it...that just cracks me up

Hello sexy cowgirl. You, with your adorable quirks and spirited guidance, motivate 1000s of folks - and I'm not sure you're fully aware of the profound mark you're leaving on the world. You still have crazy amounts of untapped power and hutzpah. Think of all the amazing and significant things you've accomplished over the past few years. Embrace Edward and hop on! hubba hubba. We share the Madonna obsession. Maybe consider adding a Tracy Anderson video to your workout repertoire. The Madge ass will be yours! xoxo jennyvroom

wish you and Edward a long term relationship .

I just found your blog and I'm loving it. I'm a Virgo, and I've had the exact same thoughts about exercise equipment. And I love my yoga mat and pretzel-ness. I enjoyed this entry because it sounded like something that I would say myself. Can't wait to hear more about Edward... I might have named it Jacob, myself :)
  • Deborah · 11 months ago
    hey Kris,

There is no better way to burn calories than riding Edward! You will get those endorphins flowing, slim down (not like you need to slim down) and just feel a lot better....Keep us posted. By the way, Brian is much more handsome than Edward....just thought I'd mention that.
  • debbiedoesraw · 11 months ago
    Dear Edward,
I expect you to behave yourself while Kris labors away on your pedals, sweating and swearing at times. I will ask that you remain a gentleman and never give Brian pause or a reason to kick you to the curb. You are entrusted with a precious body and soul, respect your destiny.. and hey! no looking up Kris's short shorts!!!!!!!!
    love
    Deb

Deb! You are a riot. So cute. I think I found the secret to staying on Edward for 40 mins. OPRAH. I DVR her and she keeps me going. As I said on the forum, Oprah is the only way I will commit. I have the attention span of a nat. You rock. Love your weekend exercise blogs. xo K

    Lots of love to you,

    Wendi
(who's sooo into Mrs. Robinson thoughts, too, when it comes to that sexy vampire boy)

I've always wanted an elliptical and for some reason, never thought of Craigslist- thanks! And your hubby's comment to you cracked me up. Sounds like something my hubby would say. As for Madonna- I want her kick-ass arms and shoulders!
  • Beth · 11 months ago
I'd ride Edward, in fact, I'd settle for my treadmill Jacob these days....I suppose a guy who busts outa his shorts at a drop of a hat and runs with wolves can't be that bad. I'm so Team-Edward but I'll have to settle for Jacob because my eliptical makes my lower back hurt - he, he - maybe I'll name my weight bench Carlisle....hmmm.... You go girl - I'll get my Jello-Jiggler ass in shape somehow - Edward, Jacob, Carlisle - or husband James - not the bad, evil one - well, only on Tuesdays......

Kris, first of all.... you kill me! You are so very funny and really make me laugh almost every time I read your blog, thanks for that! Laughter is great medicine!
Best of luck in your journey to get fit! Yes YOU can.

    Love, Anna
  • Jessica · 11 months ago
I dig Edward the Elliptical and can't wait for you to post a picture of him all dolled up and deck'd out with crazy sexy stuff.

Your gym experience of not knowing how to use the equipment properly made me laugh. Who doesn't have one (or more) of those stories hidden in their closet? My biggest gym fowl-ups are when I am trying to impress a really cute guy.....like "yeah, look what I can do on this baby," and the "uh, you're not even using it right" response......

Give em' a couple rounds! I'm sure Edward can handle it.
  • Nina · 11 months ago
kris, you are hysterical! i love this post- might be one of my favorites. :) i hate the gym too, but i love feeling healthy, so oh well. it must be done. :) thanks again for making me laugh today! best,
    nina

Glad to see you're still obsessed - with the Cullens that is ;)
  • Leslie · 11 months ago
Wow Kris THAT'S AWESOME.... I have never tried an Elliptical although my two children have and I have seen people on it @ the Gym... NO Unfortunatly I DO NOT GO TO THE GYM, but the Physical Therapist I go to & the Aqua Therapy class I go to is inside this MAGNIFICANT GYM.... It reminds me a tad of my Old Norditrack, that Unfortunatly became a Clothes Rack.....(UGH)... The Best of Luck on Transforming that "Beautiful Body" which to me you already have... You are nice & Slender.......
  • Jenny · 11 months ago
    Oh Kris,
How awesome you are....I know you are on your way to an even stronger, healthier you! I for one would LOVE to be able to exercise...so do it for yourself and do it for those of us on CSL who are not ready yet!
  • Cheryl · 11 months ago
Kris -- I can't get on the treadmill without something I've Tivo'd or have on a DVD. I've caught up with past seasons of 30 Rock that way and it actually makes me look forward to working out.
  • Vicki Corson · 11 months ago
I must say I knew this was gonna be a good post when I saw the RSS on CSL. Of course, when I saw "Edward" and a picture of an elliptical...I thought "HMMM...curious how both can suck the life right the heck outta you??" So I had to come read.
Glad I did. Great post. Of course now I feel guilty...*trudges into the basement to the dusty treadmill.....*

Kris- my favorite kama sutra postion which you and Edward must try: Squat on him, girl! Bend those knees and don't let your head bop up and down. Stay down low! Yeah! Hurts so good! Tease him by getting down low for one minute, then go back up and bounce for two minutes. Vary the intensity and you will end up sweaty, spent, and oh so satisfied. You MUST try this and report back. Warning: your legs will be mighty sore the next day. Be sure to soak them in a crystal salt bath and lube 'em up with coconut oil later!

    p.s. Debs- you are HILAR.
  • Kris Carr · 11 months ago
I think I'm blushing! HA! xo

Good timing, I just adopted a treadmill. But since you took the name Edward, I need to find another delicious guy to name ours after.
  • Rose · 11 months ago
I just would like to ask what kind of cancer do you have.
  • Casey Lorraine · 11 months ago
Kris, you have cottoned on to my secret!! Oprah + home exercise = did I really just exercise question posed to self. That is of course until you see Edward moaning and groaning from all the use and abuse.

    Enjoy the ride lady!
